Amazon.com Product Description
Running on the Palm webOS mobile platform, the 3G-enabled Palm Pre Plus for AT&T brings together all of your important information from where it resides--on your phone, at your workplace, at home, or on the Web--into a single mobile device. In addition to high-speed connectivity on AT&T's lightning quick HSPDA 3G network, the phone's memory has been doubled to 16 GB. Additionally, with AT&T's 3G network, you can make a call while simultaneously receiving picture/text messages and e-mail or viewing Web pages.

The Palm Pre Plus features the Palm webOS platform, 16 GB memory, vibrantly colorful touchscreen-enabled display, and slide-out full QWERTY keyboard.
The phone's slide-out full QWERTY keyboard puts it all at your fingertips, and the multi-touch screen lets you move back and forth between open applications using natural gestures. With Palm webOS, you can keep multiple activities open and move easily between them--like flipping through a deck of cards, using natural gestures. This allows for easy movement between messaging and e-mail or searching the Web while listening to music, and items are rearranged simply by dragging them.

Palm's webOS interface brings together the most important information from your phone, at work or on the Web, into one logical view. In addition to linking information from Google, Facebook, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and LinkedIn, Palm Pre Plus adds Yahoo! integration to Palm Synergy.

This GPS-enabled phone can access the AT&T Navigator service for turn-by-turn directions. In addition to accessing home and business networks with its Wi-Fi capabilities (802.11b/g), the Palm Pre Plus will also receive AT&T Wi-Fi access at U.S. hotspots (with more than 20,000 U.S. hotspots) included as part of an unlimited data plan. Other features include a 3-megapixel camera/camcorder, digital audio player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free devices and stereo music streaming, access to personal and corporate e-mail, and up to 5 hours of talk time.

Key Features

  • Fast 3G connectivity via AT&T's HSDPA/UMTS network (850/1900 MHz bands; 3.6/7.2 Mbps speeds with network availability).
  • GPS navigation capabilities via AT&T Navigator service includes audible turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic updates and re-routing options.
  • Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g) for accessing home and corporate networks as well as hotspots while on the go. Connect for free using one of the over 20,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide.
  • 16 GB internal memory (non-expandable) with the ability to work as a USB drive when plugged into a PC. You can simply drag and drop your PC media and documents onto the device.
  • Palm's webOS platform lets you manage multiple applications at a time, unlike any other mobile platform today. It lets you keep multiple activities open and instantly flip from one to another using card view.
    • Linked contacts: With Palm Synergy, you maintain a single view by linking your contacts from a variety of sources, so accessing them is easier than ever. For example, if you have the same contact listed in your Outlook, Google and Facebook accounts, Synergy recognizes that they're the same person and links the information together, presenting it to you as one listing.
    • Layered calendars: Palm Synergy lets you see your calendars can be seen on their own or layered together in a single view--combining work, family, friends, sports teams, or other interests. You can toggle to look at one calendar at a time, or see them all at a glance.
    • Combined messaging: See all your conversations with the same person in a chat-style view, even if it started in IM and you want to reply with a text message. You can also see who's active in a buddy list right from contacts, and start a new conversation with just one touch.
    • Combined e-mail: Check your Outlook e-mail with Microsoft Direct Push Technology and HTML support. Get wireless e-mail access to popular commercial POP3 and IMAP accounts like AOL, Gmail, and Yahoo! All your e-mail accounts can be viewed together, or separately from one simple application. Synergy even lets you see IM presence directly from an e-mail.
  • Choose from over 2000 apps like Facebook, Yelp, LinkedIn, Pandora, NFL SuperFan, and The New York Times as well as immersive 3D games from Palm application catalog.
  • Instant messaging for Google Talk and AOL
  • Document viewer compatible with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents
  • Universal search: Simply start typing to begin searching your contacts, applications, Google, Google Maps, Wikipedia and Twitter. Universal search narrows down the possible results as you type, so it's easier to find what you need.
  • Unobtrusive notifications: When important things come up or new updates arrive, you'll receive notifications at the bottom of your screen. You will know what is going on without being completely interrupted or losing your train of thought.
  • 3.1-inch multi-touch screen with a vibrant 24-bit color, 320x480 resolution HVGA display
  • Accelerometer and proximity sensor: An accelerometer automatically orients Web pages and photos to your perspective so you can view them in landscape or portrait mode. Watch videos in landscape mode as well. The proximity sensor automatically disables the touch screen and turns off the display whenever you put the phone up to your ear.
  • Slide-out QWERTY keyboard for fast messaging
  • 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, extended depth of field, and geotagging.
  • Bluetooth connectivity (version 2.1) includes profiles for communication headset, hands-free car kits, and the A2DP Bluetooth profile--enabling you to wirelessly stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones or speaker dock.
  • Incredibly fast Web browser brings you full Web sites the way they were meant to be seen
  • Voice dialing capabilities
  • Organizer tools including calendar, notes, voice memo, tasks, calculator
  • Ringer switch easily silences the device with one touch
  • Browse the App Catalog from your phone and download apps right over the air. Choose from a variety of titles designed for Palm webOS, many of which work together with other apps on the phone. Find apps like OpenTable, Yelp, or WHERE, just to name a few... and new ones are being added all the time.
  • Palm Services automatically backs up your phone so you have a copy of your important data. You can also remotely erase your data if your phone is lost or stolen. And you get software updates that make it easy to stay up to date with the latest enhancements.
  • 3.5mm headset jack

5 out of 5 stars The specs in this listing are completely wrong   May 18, 2010

It is unfortunate that Amazon doesn't list the specs for this phone. The good news is that the specs are the same as the Verizon Pre Plus.

FYI, the Palm Pre Plus is a fantastic phone. Don't be scared off by the lack of specs listed here...

This is the most innovative, powerful, and easy to use smartphone on the market.

The wireless touchstone charger is amazing, and AT&T includes it with the phone. That's worth $40-$50 to buy it separate.

5 out of 5 stars Best for multitasking and notifications!   July 1, 2010

I ordered this phone via Amazon Wireless as an upgrade from my Palm Centro and the shipment was prompt. My husband has the new iPhone 4 but is envious about the ease in which multitasking can be done on this phone. The notifications are top notch and Palm did a great job. The screen, the keyboard, the OS, and call quality all make this smartphone one of the best out there. Sadly, Palm isn't marketing this phone enough. I would highly recommend this phone after using it for over 4 weeks.

5 out of 5 stars lovin it, fix screen issue   July 3, 2010

I researched this phone for a while before buying.

Reviews on the verizon website make it look like the worst phone ever. technical problems like screen freezing.

The AT&T website has mostly positive reviews, so I was not sure what to do. I bought it on Amazon bc of the great price.

I love the phone. works great and the ease of use with applications is awesome. was easy to transfer all my contacts and calendars from previous version of the Palm (treo) to this phone. screen is good. camera is good. works great as a phone. internet works well. keyboard small but not hard to use at all, prefer to i phone keyboard and crazy blackberry storm. an extra charger at work or car is helpful. easy to find cheap accessories.

love this phone

as for the screen, it froze the first day whenever a call was made/recieved. i called palm help and there was an easy fix. if you use a screen protector and its not on flat and even, the screen will assume there is pressure against it and will go blank when making a call, and wont turn on until the pressure is gone. so you think it blanked out, but the phone is just waiting for you to hang up.
simple fix - remove/replace the screen protector. the one i had on was pulled up and bent in the corner. the phone works great now.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome phone   May 21, 2010

I got it from AT&T on day 1. One word... Awesome
I am in love with webos now. It lets you do so much with the device. I was able to install all the apps that i need in no time at all. [...] is a good place to start.
One primary reason I went with this phone is the openness of the OS. You are no longer tied to a specific program or computer to manipulate the data.
As previous reviewer mentioned the errors in phone specs on amazon, check it on palm's website to make an informed decision.
Oh and that touchstone charging is out of this world. I got 2 touchstones (19.97 each with touchstone back cover) from radioshack. Try it and you will never want to charge it in the conventional way.

5 out of 5 stars WebOS is Fantastic, and so is Palm.   September 8, 2010
Alex Morel (New York, USA)
The Palm Pre Plus, is just amazing.
The way I see it, in terms of the OS's polish and design, WebOS is the iPhone's only real competition (until Windows Phone 7 arrives). I tried Android before switching to the Palm Pre Plus, and I just hated the ugly and awkward OS that is Android. Google services are great as always, but the Android OS is not really fun to use.

The Palm Pre Plus is also nicely designed and feels good in the hands, I love the no button front and I just really like the simpleness of it.

Although the Hardware is somewhat outdated now and the battery life isn't that great, trust me you will love the Phone.

Pros:
WebOS
-Multi-task is a breeze, WebOS is really fun to use and easy to learn.
Hardware
-Nice artisan design, that feels good in hands and can easily stand on its own feet when compared to current phones.
Memory
-16GB Internal Memory.
Touchstone Charger
-Nice way to charge your Phone.

Cons:
Battery Life
Small App Catalog
-Which will grow through time, so far there are some really nice apps.

Final Thoughts:
Come on people support this great OS. Give it a try!
